Mission Statement

Our mission is to produce knowledgeable, caring, and reflective teachers and leaders who are dedicated to teaching all children in 21st Century Schools.  All programs in the department prepare dynamic facilitators of learning and global citizens to teach and lead. This goal is achieved at both the undergraduate and graduate levels through the delivery of research-based instruction, collaboration and partnerships, and continuous professional development activities for our candidates.

About this Guide

The purpose of this guide is to assist students and faculty members of Fayetteville State University's eDpartment of Elementary Education in locating library resources for study and research purposes. These resources are comprised of print and electronic books; dissertations and theses;  print and electronic article information in scholarly peer-reviewed publications, magazines and newspapers; non-print and media items on DVDs, CDs, and in streaming video format; education law and legal resources; biographical, statistical and informational databases; and selected web sites.  The library makes every attempt to provide timely, updated and relevant information resources related to birth to kindergarten and elementary education from grades 1-6.
